Oh no, not again…

A bowl of petunias and a sperm whale

Well, it's been a while since I've had the time or the desire to blog, but now that there is something interesting happening, I figured I would fire the 'ole girl back up. We have, recently, started finishing out basement. The "pic" below is from just before we started insulating and framing (more on that once I get around to posting pics). You have to click on the arrows at the bottom of the pic to rotate around the basement.

Videos!

Since we haven't been on any trips and nothing in the house is decorated to the point where I want to post pictures, I figured some videos of the pups playing/being weird were in order. Enjoy!

Pinehouse Lake!

So, this post is a little old and most of these pictures are on Facebook now but I need something to start off the new blog! On the weekend of July 17th, Lauren and I wend with our friends Steven and Camille to Pinehouse Lake for a little canoe/camping trip.

Here is Steven and Camille all ready to rock on the way to our camp spot.

As you can see, we were paddling against time, with a storm on the way!

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to our spot before the storm caught us. We were forced to paddle toward a funnel cloud to get to shore and we hid beneath our tarps for a few hours while the storm blew over.

We survived.

This was what we came home to whenever we left.

This is why we never wanted to leave!

Lauren was the last one to catch a fish but made up for it in size!

Here is the group, just before we left.

Flooring!

Well, it's been just under a month since my last post so I have a lot of catching up to do! I'm going to start where I left off, flooring! By now, the flooring has been done for a few weeks. We actually move in on Saturday! Here are some pictures from early-mid April of the flooring. I have other pictures of lighting and other random stuff to post later. Also, our counter tops are going in today!

Here is our tile in the ensuite bathroom/closet. I chose a tight shot to show the "linen" texture (and because the rest of the bathroom was a mess).

Here is a closeup of our carpet. As you can see, we are continuing the square theme found in the rest of the house.

Here is our bedroom with carpet! At this point, there were no baseboards or light switch or plugin covers.

Here is a panorama of our Great Room. The laminate is a bit dusty and I have stopped hiding the kitchen.

Last, but not least, is a close-up shot of our laminate. There is a lot of dust in between the planks but you get the general idea.

So, the floor tile appears to be completely done. I say appears because we still couldn't enter the house. I did, however, manage to get a couple of pics from the front door:

As you can see, our "Fresh Tile, Keep Out" sign has been edited to say "Fresh Grout Keep Out" which is much more poetic.

This shot from the front door kind of shows the foyer, although it is a little over-exposed.

Here is a closer-up shot of our tile, with grout!
